Immigrant

I made IMMIGRANT after spending more than ten years living outside the country where I was born.

During that time, I’ve experienced many of the things that can come with being an immigrant: being far from family, starting over, feeling out of place, dealing with unstable jobs, financial problems, loneliness, and the pressure of trying to build a life somewhere that still doesn’t completely feel like home.

This game is a small and personal tribute to the people who live through that reality every day.

It is about the decisions you make while trying to build a life in a new country. You will have to manage your money, health, hunger, stress, relationships, legal status, and happiness.

Sometimes, there is no good choice.

You may have to choose between working longer hours or taking care of your health, saving money or helping your family, staying quiet or standing up for yourself.

The goal is not to find a perfect life.

It is simply to keep moving forward without letting everything fall apart.

This game is not intended to represent every immigrant experience. Every person has a different story.

This is only one perspective, shaped by some of the things I have lived through, witnessed, and felt during these years.

Creé IMMIGRANT después de pasar más de diez años viviendo fuera del país donde nací.

Durante ese tiempo he vivido muchas de las cosas que pueden formar parte de la experiencia de ser inmigrante: estar lejos de la familia, comenzar de nuevo, sentir que no perteneces, enfrentarte a trabajos inestables, problemas económicos, soledad y la presión de intentar construir una vida en un lugar que todavía no se siente completamente como hogar.

Este juego es un pequeño homenaje personal a todas las personas que viven esa realidad cada día.

Trata sobre las decisiones que debes tomar mientras intentas construir una vida en un país nuevo. Tendrás que gestionar tu dinero, salud, hambre, estrés, relaciones, situación legal y felicidad.

A veces no existe una buena decisión.

Puede que tengas que elegir entre trabajar más horas o cuidar tu salud, ahorrar dinero o ayudar a tu familia, quedarte callado o defenderte.

El objetivo no es encontrar una vida perfecta.

Es simplemente continuar avanzando sin dejar que todo se derrumbe.

Este juego no pretende representar todas las experiencias migratorias. Cada persona tiene una historia diferente.

Esta es solo una perspectiva, construida a partir de algunas de las cosas que he vivido, presenciado y sentido durante estos años.
